Give the user the ability to decide when to Update the cart
As a user in the cart needing to make a lot of changes, I want to make all of my changes and then update the cart to confirm the price and availability.
Currently, every time I touch something in the cart, I have to wait for the cart to update. When the update takes 10, 30 or 60 seconds or heaven forbid, 4 minutes, it makes the cart unusable.
It would be helpful if the user could control the timing of when the updates take place to allow making several changes without having to wait.

Absolutely in favor of this idea. We have multiple pricing programs with various qualifiers that trigger a re-simulation of the read from SAP. That causes a user to have to wait for every single change. On a 30–50 line cart, that delay is substantial and NOT at all what our users would be considered "friendly" or quick to use.
We have line level attributes: Ship-to address, PO# and requested delivery date are all available. Requested delivery and ship-to currently cause a this earlier mentioned delay that would be great to have users say, "Updates complete -please update my cart now" and then have that timer start.
